Requirements

It should be remembered that this is not your standard pub crawl. Instead this is an historical and cultural celebration of all things Bavarian (with a primary focus on 'Brau). Therefore, in order to celebrate in the correct manner, a list of requirements has been put together to help you gain as much pleasure from the event as possible.

Stein

Ayiongerbrau SteinIt is stongly recommended that this be an Ayingerbrau Stein (available from eBay). Failing this, a good lidded Stein is suitable but should include a fancy German Bar Room scene (rather than a 'Happy 18th' or rabbits)

Alpine Hat

TacheThe Alpine Hat. Perhaps the defining characteristic of true Bavarians. Wear yours with pride (it also helps to locate each other on the busy streets of London).

Tache

Alpine HatThe more Bavarian you look the better, and what better way to look Bavarian than to sport a bushy tache.

Pigtails

PigtailsOne for the ladies here. If wire can be inserted to make the 'extra-curly' type, then all better. All Braumeisters love a Braulien in pigtails so don't let us down.

Pipe

PipeSmoking kills, but at least you can go out in style by puffing on a nicely crafted pipe and looking like a real bottom-slapping Bavarian.

Money

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you 24 halves of Brau which comes damn close. As a guide, we suggest the following amounts for the day:

24 halves of Ayingerbrau at approximately £0.97 = £23.28

Travel Card (Zones 1-2) = £4.30

Pasty (Large) = approximately £2.00
